Business Department Academic Advising

The Business Academic Advisors:
  • Help students understand the degree requirements as specified in the college catalog
  • Support students in developing their personal goals
  • Assist their advisees with class scheduling
  • Clarify college principles and procedures
  • Familiarize students with college services and resources

Call or stop by the Business Department (Lower Level Library) to set up an advising appointment.  You must see you advisor in order to be able to register.  Plan to meet with your advisor three to five days before your priority registration date.  Be sure you have your Registration Notice from the Registrar giving your registration date & time and PAC (Personal Access Code); you'll need it in order to register online.  You may register on or after that day and time, provided you don't have a Business Office or other hold.

On the day of your advising appointment, you should:

  • Before your first advising appointment with your Business Advisor, obtain a copy of your Major Checklist.  Link to Checklists online.
  • Review your Degree Requirement checklist, and know what Foundations requirements you have taken and have yet to fulfill; also, check the catalogue for the requirements for your intended major.
  • Make a list of all the courses you'd like to take, and choose some alternates in the event a first choice class is closed.
  • Check EdgeReg for closed classes and added sections.
