Through networking and educational
opportunities, the association will help build stronger
relationships between students, with the school, and with
alumni. These relationships will help enhance the students'
personal, professional, and academic experiences.
Leadership: Vice President: Abby Watermolen Treasurer: Danielle Parker
Meeting Frequency: Two social meetings and one social/educational event are held during each regular semester. All enrolled MBA students are invited. Guest speakers may be invited to speak. The Steering Committee will meet as needed during the startup phase of the association to develop direction and help ensure longevity of the group. Committees Executive Committee Mission of this
committee is to provide oversight and day-to-day management of
the association. Events Committee Mission is to hold social events throughout the year to allow MBA candidates and invited guests to broaden their network, share ideas, and communicate with a broader group of students than encountered in their classes and study groups. Fun is part of the mission. Mission is also to provide 2 events throughout the academic year to broaden the educational experience offered in classes. These educational events could also be considered the main fundraising events of the association.
Internal Relations & Curriculum Committee Mission is to facilitate ongoing communication with the college and to gather feedback on the academic mix, depth and breadth of the offerings in the MBA program. Through surveys, interviews and panels, the Curriculum Committee will be a valuable asset to the future MBA students, the Business School, and the future of the college.
Mission is to ensure that the association has participation from a high percentage of MBA candidates. Committee also works with the Alumni Association to ensure continued participation after graduation. There is a possibility of having an undergraduate business student on the committee.
International Committee Mission is to help ensure that the large international student body is offered opportunities to socialize and network with the native population at Edgewood. The mission is also to take advantage of the opportunity we have to learn about international students cultures and business traditions.
Community Outreach Committee A mission of the association is one of philanthropy and community involvement. It is the hope of the association founders to eventually offer a scholarship of some form to individuals. Scholarships would be funded by fundraising activities. This committee also works to promote community involvement through organized volunteer activities.
Marketing Communications Committee Mission of this committee is to help communicate EMBASA events to members and potential members. This committee utilizes communication vehicles such as the website, posters, flyers, email, etc. to reach our membership. They ensure that the website is updated and that email correspondence with the members used effectively. This committee also uses public relations tactics to communicate activities on campus and to the greater Madison Community. To contact the Webmaster email lgoldthorpe@edgewood.edu
