Committee Goals for 2009-10

These are the goals the dean would like each committee to work on this 2009-10 academic year. The chair of the committee may have 1 or 2 additional goals and advisory board members may introduce additional goals as well. The goal for the July 24 meeting is to discuss all of the goals, prioritize them, decide on which to pursue in ’09-10 and then set timelines and tasks to complete them.

A. UNDERGRADUATE COMMITTEE GOALS  (Chair: Amie Dragoo ADragoo@edgewood.edu 663-2323.)

· Recommend ways to increase our RAAD enrollment in the BBA

· Discuss if an online option should be offered to RAAD students and when.

· Recommend ways to improve the Undergraduate experience for students

B. GRADUATE COMMITTEE GOALS  (Chair: Ayla Annac AAnnac@edgewood.edu 663-2898)

· Recommend ways to grow the graduate program (MBA, MS Accountancy & URED)

· Recommend ways to improve our retention rates (i.e. Advisory board serve as mentors, etc.)

· Identify any barriers to entry (esp. our 500-level foundation courses) and recommend ways to remove barriers

C. FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE GOALS (Co-Chairs: Chuck Taylor ctaylor@edgewood.edu & John     Uselman juselman@edgewood.edu.)

· Support the fundraising priorities of the B-school

· Support the annual $100,000 matching scholarship campaign and recommend how funds can be used to diversify our student body

· Identify a fundraising activity that would be the B-school’s annual event

D. INTERNSHIP/OUTREACH COMMITTEE GOALS  (Chair: Scott Braucht Braucht@charter.net )

· Identify new internship sites for our students

· Recommend ways that the faculty and Advisory Board members can engage in outreach efforts to promote the B-school

The Dean would also like each committee to weigh in on these initiatives:

Should we have a guest speaker address the advisory board each meeting for 15 to 20 minutes on a timely topic during the general session? This speaker could be a board member or outside guest speaker and members could select the topic.

How can we increase networking opportunities for advisory board members?

We’ll set aside at least 5-minutes in every general session for board members to make any announcements they would like the group to know about.

BOARD EXPECTATIONS

Members are expected to attend at least 2 out of 3 board meetings annually
